The Soulogy Method

The principle

Much of human response happens before there is time to think. The body and mind can react to what feels familiar, shaped by earlier experience, even when the present situation is different.

This does not mean someone lacks insight or effort. A familiar response can persist even when the pattern is understood.

Understanding a pattern is the beginning. The Soulogy Method works with these automatic responses to help a different response become available in the moment, not only in hindsight.

Who it is for

You are used to being capable. That has not changed.

What has changed is how much it takes to feel at ease.

You still make decisions, meet commitments, and take an interest.

But it no longer feels as spacious or natural. You find yourself wanting to be left alone, then missing the feeling of wanting to join in.

You may have spent time understanding yourself. You can recognise a familiar reaction and explain where it comes from. What frustrates you is feeling caught in it nonetheless.

You may hesitate to call it a problem. There is no single thing you can point to—only a growing awareness that managing well and feeling well have become two different things.

The Approach

Hypnotherapy Session

The Soulogy Method works with automatic stress responses and long-standing patterns that can be difficult to shift through conscious effort alone.

Clinical hypnotherapy is at the centre of the work, with the DeTrauma Technique™, NLP, Resource Therapy, parts work and somatic methods drawn on where appropriate. The approach is personalised rather than fixed, so that familiar responses can become less automatic and more flexible.

The work is carefully paced and contained. There is time to find your footing. Each step is agreed, and nothing needs to be performed or proven. The aim is not only to help you manage a familiar response, but to support change in the response itself.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Clinical hypnotherapy uses focused attention, guided imagery, language and awareness of sensation to explore habitual responses experientially—not only through conversation. This helps loosen familiar patterns and make room for a different response.

Each session is guided by what you want to change, exploring the feelings and responses connected to it.

Hypnotherapy does not replace medical, psychological or psychiatric care where that care is needed.

DeTrauma Technique™

The DeTrauma Technique™ is a trauma-focused technique. During a traumatic experience, protective responses switch on automatically. When the trauma is not fully processed, those responses can stay active, shaping reactions long after the event, often before there is time to understand why.

The technique combines hypnotherapeutic processes with guided eye movements for desensitisation—an element also used in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). DeTrauma is a distinct technique and is not EMDR therapy.

It works directly with what remains of the trauma: the emotional and bodily reactions, the images, and the meanings attached to it. The experience does not need to be retold in detail.

As desensitisation reduces the intensity of these reactions, the memory can be held as something that happened then, rather than something that is still happening. The work addresses the response itself, not only how to manage it.

Used within Then and Now, one-to-one, once steadiness is in place. Zina is a certified DeTrauma Technique™ practitioner.

Jnana Kanda Energy Work

Jnana Kanda is a traditional energy-healing practice rooted in Vedic teachings and passed down through a Balinese lineage.

Through stillness, directed awareness, and light-touch or non-touch methods, it offers a less verbal way of attending to experience—without needing to explain or analyse it. Within this tradition, the intention is to restore balance in the body–mind field and support a sense of calm and spaciousness.

It can be offered on its own or alongside other sessions. Offered in person in Sydney only.

The Programs

Each program begins at a different point: a response you cannot seem to shift, an experience that still follows you, or a part of life that no longer feels possible in the same way.

You may be noticing that what once worked no longer does.

You have likely been capable, driven, and self-managing for a long time. You may still be functioning outwardly — or you may be starting to feel the internal cost. Sleep, focus, emotional steadiness, or a sense of presence may no longer feel reliable in the way they once did.

You may already have insight, therapy, or self-work behind you. You understand your patterns. And yet, automatic stress responses continue, and your system does not settle as easily or as consistently as before.

This is often the point at which people look beyond strategy, effort, or coping — not to manage symptoms, but to address the deeper systems that have been carrying the load for too long.

Room to Recover combines clinical hypnotherapy with somatic practice to recognise how pressure builds, explore what makes unwinding difficult and work towards a more reliable return to rest. The focus is recovery within everyday life, not another routine to perform perfectly.

The shape of the work

  • Settling: recognising early signs of tension, with a short practice using breath, attention and awareness of the surroundings.

  • Working with pressure: exploring how you respond to manageable demands, and using hypnosis to rehearse the move towards rest.

  • A recovery rhythm: bringing useful practices into the week and preparing for periods when demands increase.

Room to Recover doesn’t involve processing traumatic memories. If past experiences need attention, Then and Now may be the better starting point, or elements of it can be included. Persistent or changing physical symptoms should be checked by a doctor.

Then and Now
Room to Recover
Then and Now

Then and Now is trauma-focused work, paced individually. It begins with the present: what helps you feel settled, what you would like help with, and whether this approach suits you. Clinical trauma hypnotherapy, including the DeTrauma Technique™, is used to approach earlier experiences only when you are ready, and any work with distressing memories is agreed together.

The shape of the work

  • Preparation: understanding what brings you here, agreeing the focus, and building ways to stay steady within and between sessions.

  • Focused work: where appropriate, approaching the experiences or responses you want help with, at a pace reviewed together.

  • Integration and review: connecting the work with everyday situations, considering what has changed and agreeing what comes next.

Progress is reviewed together as the work goes. Some people need more time, and further sessions or a referral may be recommended. Then and Now is not a crisis service; anyone at immediate risk should contact emergency services.

Outside the Script
Outside the Script

Outside the Script uses clinical hypnotherapy and mental rehearsal to explore those expectations and practise alternatives. Reliability, composure and independence stay available as strengths, without feeling compulsory.

The shape of the work

  • Map: the situations where you hold back, overprepare or defer, and what you expect would happen if you responded differently.

  • Rehearse: using hypnosis to explore and practise different responses to the situations that matter to you.

  • Test and review: small, agreed steps in everyday life, then an honest review of what happened, including what didn’t go to plan.

Outside the Script doesn’t involve processing traumatic memories. If earlier experiences need focused attention, Then and Now may be the better place to begin.

About Soulogy

20260304_121728.heic
Why Soulogy exists

Soulogy grew out of Zina’s more than two decades in high-pressure corporate environments, working on complex programs, large-scale implementations, and transformation initiatives where pace, responsibility, and sustained performance were the norm. She saw how capable people adapt to prolonged pressure, and how the cost often shows not in performance, but in sleep, emotional steadiness, and the ability to truly switch off.

Her clinical training gave that understanding somewhere to go. Zina holds an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Trauma Hypnotherapy, is a certified DeTrauma Technique™ practitioner, and has trained in NLP, Resource Therapy, somatic methods, clinical reflexology, and energy healing.

Soulogy brings these together as an integrative practice for automatic stress responses and patterns shaped by past strain or trauma. It works with physical sensations, emotional reactions, and personal meaning, alongside energy-healing practices where appropriate. The intention is for responses to align with the present, rather than remain shaped by the past.

There is no expectation that you should be able to explain everything clearly from the beginning. The work starts with what is happening for you, what you have already tried, and what feels appropriate to address. Zina’s role is to guide the process with care and clear boundaries, so that your attention can stay on the work itself.
